Spain. With the participation of more than a thousand national and international companies, 560 of direct participation, ended on March 4 the 2011 edition of Climatización, the fair that integrated the sectors of air conditioning, heating, ventilation and refrigeration and that was held in Madrid.
In the event, organized by Ifema and promoted by the Association of Manufacturers of Air Conditioning Equipment (Afec), efficiency, alternative energies and state-of-the-art technological developments were some of the most important topics that focused the offer of products presented by the most outstanding companies in the sector.
In the Innovation Gallery, 12 products from different brands showed their proposals inclined towards the reduction of energy consumption and the care of the environment. In addition, professionals had a space for opinion in Foroclima.
In Spain, the industry reached a turnover of 4.3 billion euros (about US$6 million) in 2010 and generated 25,000 jobs. The air conditioning and heating sectors billed around 1.1 billion euros each (about $1.5 billion), and exports worth 144 million and 200 million, respectively.
Industrial refrigeration recorded sales of 560 million euros (about US$782 million), 80 (US$111 million) of them thanks to exports.
