Belimo and Tridium develop wireless VAC controller

USA. During the 2008 Niagara Summit, the Sedona Framework was launched, a framework that will provide the infrastructure for a wired and wireless VAV product to be launched in 2009. Tridium, the supplier of devices for corporate automation, announced a cooperation with Belimo to develop a new generation of VAV controllers for specific applications, smart sensors and other devices. Belimo will integrate the capabilities of the Sedona platform into its actuator platforms by adding temperature control and communications to independent pressure control. The driver supports the BACnet protocol and can communicate wirelessly over an 802.15.4 mesh network to reduce installation costs. The platform will be officially launched in late 2008.
