United States. The Institute of Refrigeration, Air Conditioning and Heating (AHRI) is the result of the merger approved by members of air conditioning and refrigeration associations, as well as manufacturers of gas household appliances. The new association, approved in mid-December, has been in effect since the first of January of this year and will be based in Arlington, Vancouver.
This merger directly benefits the current 370 members, by creating a single influential entity that more effectively represents interests, while continuing the associations' work in setting industry standards and certifying heating, refrigeration and air conditioning equipment. David Myers, vice president of Johnson Controls, was appointed as chairman of the board of directors.
