Colombia. Cristina Gamboa, Executive Director of the Colombian Council for Sustainable Construction, CCCS, is one of five new members of the Board of Directors of the World Green Building Council (WorldGBC) as of January 2015.
The director of the CCCS will support the development strategy of the international body together with the leaders of the sustainable building councils of Australia (Romilly Madew, Secretary), Singapore (Lee Siang, Vice President) and South Africa (Bruce Kerswill, President). The fifth member of that table is Jane Henley, Executive Director of WorldGBC.
This outstanding position of Colombia on the board of directors of the WorldGBC "is a further recognition of the CCCS and its constant work in the opportunities and perspectives of the Colombian market in sustainable construction and the global advances, the tools and benefits of measuring sustainability in buildings and the realization of a regulation that includes incentives for the sustainable construction industry in Colombia," said Cristina Gamboa.
For Carlos Alfredo Vargas, president of the Board of Directors of the CCCS since April 2010, and Manager of the Strategic Unit of the construction company Prodesa, "this is a recognition of the great work carried out by the CCCS during these years, with dedication, coherence, depth and, above all, with great respect for the issue of sustainability in the construction industry. Likewise, it is a recognition of the work of Cristina Gamboa, both for her daily management at the head of the Council since August 2009, and for her leadership and participation in the congresses and international forums in which she has intervened and left the name of the country very high".
Cristina Gamboa was also ratified in the position of President of the Network of the Americas of the WorldGBC, a regional scenario that brings together the sustainable construction councils of the entire continent, and which the Executive Director of the CCCS leads since 2012.
