TCL starts operations at its third plant in Brazil

Brazil. The Chinese-Brazilian joint venture: SEMP TCL began operations at its new air conditioning products manufacturing plant, located in Manaus, capital of the state of Amazonas.

With this new plant, the brand completes its third factory in this country and expects the annual manufacturing capacity of air conditioners there to reach one million units.

The plant has an area of more than 34,000 square meters; the factory is expected to create around 1,000 jobs for local residents and expand the market share of TCL air conditioners in Brazil. Initially, the unit will produce Split Wall models from 9000 BTU to 32000 BTU, both in On-Off and Inverter versions.

"We are very happy to carry out one of the company's most important projects in the Brazilian market so far. With the new factory, we expect to expand our production capacity to reach 20% market share in the next five years. In this way, we will be able to consolidate TCL as one of the leading manufacturers of air conditioners in the country, as well as in the international market," said Yue Haiping, General Manager of SEMP TCL in Brazil.

In addition to its core products, professional TVs and air conditioners, SEMP TCL plans to bring more electronics to Brazil.

Jointly established in 2016 by Chinese electronics giant TCL Technology and Brazilian appliance manufacturer SEMP, SEMP TCL began making a profit from the first year of its establishment and ranked in the top three in terms of market share in five years.

"We are very optimistic about the expansion of our production of TCL air conditioners, as the new factory is the result of a long study we conducted on the Brazilian market. We believe in the national industry and we want to expand our market share, offering the best to the consumer", concludes the executive.
