TecnoEdificios 2010 confirmed a new conference within its academic program, which will be included in the Air Conditioning and Comfort panel. In the same way the schedules of the academic program of November 5 were modified , for more information please visit the Programa de ConferenciasThe title of the new paper is Ultra Efficient Plants for Air Conditioning Systems and will be dictated by José L. Correa, in charge of the business area for the Andean Region of Protec. The talk basically focuses on publicizing a new technology based on a control system for Ultra Efficient Plants, which aims to demonstrate the amount of energy that can be saved in a property through its use.
"Traditional ice water systems such as cooling towers and the condensation pump, the chiller based on the temperature of the return of water and secondary cold water systems, have traditionally been controlled separately. Tom Hartman, is an engineer who designed a control algorithm that makes all three systems work at the same time to achieve an ideal efficiency point of kilowatt per ton at each moment of operation," explained the engineer.
In the same way, José L. González gave the reasons why this talk will be useful for the attendees of TecnoEdificios 2010.
"I think this is something that is going to be imposed on the world market, because the cost of energy is still up and all the air conditioning plants that exist are oversized. Most of the time, in all climates, less than 10% of plants work at full capacity per year, as most do about 65% load, and that's inefficiency. These systems work with spot charging and energy savings can ensure efficiency of less than 0.5 kilowatts per tonne, which means a huge saving of money."
