The first day of the eighth edition of RefriAméricas 2011 ended with a cocktail party in which the attendees of the academic program and the exhibitors of the commercial exhibition shared a pleasant time while discussing everyday issues related to the refrigeration industry.
The session of this June 16 was closed at the Commercial Hall by the Peruvian William Morales Quispe, of Servicios Reter ERL, who delved into good refrigeration practices based on his experience in the South American country. While at the Industrial Show, Giovanni Barletta, from Emerson, spoke about the different techniques to quickly detect compressor failures.
In summary, in both rooms this first day of presentations was quite positive for more than a hundred attendees, who actively participated in each of the talks and revealed their satisfaction with the quality of the topics and speakers, in addition to highlighting the presence of important companies in the commercial exhibition.
In the Commercial Hall, topics such as the use of solar energy for HVAC, the legislations that exist in Colombia to regulate cooling processes, and the responsibility that the industry has with the consumption of energy and water to have a more self-sustainable industry were discussed.
In the industrial refrigeration show, meanwhile, attendees participated effusively in each of the four presentations offered by the speakers Guillaume Klein of Flexelec-Projectcol, Mauricio Baena of Thermal Engineering, Rodnei Peres, Manager of Foreign Trade of Full Gauge Controls and the Engineer Giovanni Barletta of Copeland; which agreed on the need to minimize costs through the continuous improvement of production processes, regardless of the sector of the industry in which the company operates.
This Friday, the congress will begin its second day of talks, starting at 8:30 a.m. (local time), with the forum called "Discussions on the cold sector in the Andean region and the Caribbean and its impact on national production chains".
