The reverse trade mission that has brought together for two days US and Andalusian leaders and businessmen in Seville has concluded this Thursday with "success", after the celebration of more than 100 bilateral meetings and the signing of an agreement with the Andalusian ICT employer Eticom and with Magtel, which has presented an investment project in Texas that exceeds 100 million dollars.
In a note, the Ministry of Economy, Innovation and Science explained that during the mission, focused on ICT and renewable energies, about twenty American companies have participated, among which are AT&T and Cisco, and business associations such as HTTP, representative of Hispanic companies in the ICT sector in the US.
Thus, the trade mission has closed with more than 100 bilateral meetings around 20 'business to business' tables in which American companies have presented themselves and exchanged impressions with about 50 Andalusian companies. Two other American companies that have not been able to attend, have held sessions by video conference with interested local firms.
The participating companies have also contributed other types of projects related to the application of ICT, especially in the field of renewable energies and defense and security. The meetings focused on knowing the products and services offered by Andalusian companies, and the possibilities of internationalization from the legal and market point of view.
As for the main conclusions of this first trade mission, the agreements reached with American companies and that have been formalized in agreements between Eticom and HTTP (Hispanic Technology and Telecommunications Partership), an institution formed by organizations that support the social, political and economic advancement of the 51 million Spanish-speaking Americans, with special dedication to the promotion of ICT policies in the Hispanic community of the United States, stand out.
The agreement has the main objective of attracting investments in Andalusia and the United States, establishing business connections, promoting the promotion of new technologies, and developing actions of dissemination, information, and participation in events.
For its part, Magtel has presented an investment project in the renewable energy sector, which it intends to develop in the state of Texas valued at more than 100 million dollars. According to Magtel, direct contact with local American companies and with government representatives of the United States in this mission is enabling the viability of this project.
In this sense, the assistant secretary of commerce for Europe of the government of the United States, Juan Verde has known first-hand this project, proving its "solvency and capacity" of Magtel to develop it. It is about commissioning a photovoltaic solar plant of 50 megawatts (mW) of power, located in San Antonio (Texas) that will require 150 jobs for two years and involves several industrial projects. It also has an R&D&I development plan that links Andalusian universities with Texas State universities and a training plan that will be provided by Magtel's own staff.
