An Israeli mission composed of 15 clean technology companies met on Tuesday with the Deputy Minister of Industry and Energy of the Basque Government, Xabier Garmendia, to learn about the Basque experience in clean technologies and with the seedbeds of companies, as reported by the Basque Government in a statement.
Different positions of the companies participated in the working day, as well as members of the Israeli University of Technion. The Israeli delegation will take the opportunity to visit Basque companies specialized in clean technology with ACLIMA (Association-Cluster of Environmental Industries of the Basque Country).
As reported by the Executive, the 15 companies arrived on Sunday in the Basque Country, where they began their days with a visit to the Guggenheim. In its work project, the Department of Industry offered this Monday to the Israeli delegation a detailed tour of the aid and services that can be provided in the Basque Country through the SPRI (Society for Competitive Transformation), especially in Innovation and Internationalization.
Subsequently, a presentation was held at the headquarters of Aclima, in Bilbao, of the 'start-up' of clean technology and the projects of the Basque technological platforms IK4 and Tecnalia. All Israeli companies visiting the Basque Country work with environmentally friendly technologies, such as novel water treatments, renewable energies, nanotechnology, technology and biotechnology applied to food and water.
The purpose of this trip is to establish collaboration agreements with Basque companies and institutions. The Basque Government will take the opportunity to learn about the role of the Israeli government and institutions in the promotion of private seedbeds of companies, of the 'start-up' in that country.
As explained by the Executive, the 'start-up' companies are newly created companies with great growth possibilities, which generally come from the world of entrepreneurship, and which are associated with the promotion of innovation, development of technologies, quality jobs, better distribution of wealth, among other aspects.
