Acciona invested €88.1 million in research, development and innovation (R&D&I) in 2010, of which almost half (47%) went to renewable energies.
This is the second largest investment amount that the group chaired by José Manuel Entrecanales allocates to R&D in the last five years, although it constitutes a decrease of 4% compared to 2009.
By business areas, 41.4 million euros were allocated to the green energy division, while 33.4 million (38%) were used in the infrastructure division, and eight million more (10%) to the water business, according to data from the company collected by Europa Press.
Acciona, which has a total of 346 employees dedicated to R&D, participated in 133 research projects during 2010, which closed with a total of 67 patents.
Likewise, According to its data, Acciona remains one of the first companies in the Cenit program of the Ministry of Cinema and Innovation, with a total of 16 projects between 2006-2010.
These projects include the 'Trainer', consisting of the development of a new technology for autonomous and intelligent regeneration of materials for application in construction components, to increase their useful life, and the 'Azimut', which investigates technologies for offshore wind turbines of 15 megawatts (MW).
Acciona also continues to participate in the Nth Power Fund IV Venture Capital Fund, aimed exclusively at investing in technological projects in the world of clean energy. (EUROPA PRESS)
