The president of the Junta de Andalucía, José Antonio Griñán, stressed this Wednesday at the inauguration of the El Andévalo wind complex in Puebla de Guzmán (Huelva), that the construction of renewable energy facilities has involved the investment of more than 3,500 million euros in the last two years, also indicating that there are already about 1,600 companies operating in this sector in Andalusia, with 36,000 associated jobs.
In his speech, Griñán stressed that today it is more evident than ever the importance of reducing energy dependence for the economy of a country and betting on sustainability, as Andalusia has been doing for years.
"Renewable energies have become one of our strategic policies, and have made Andalusia an international benchmark in the use of natural resources as a source of energy," said Griñán, who said that "this leadership is not accidental. We have achieved it from the political will, and the impulse and the private entrepreneurial capacity".
On the other hand, in wind energy, the president of the Board has qualified, Andalusia leads the growth of Spain, to which he added that the increase in installed power in the last four years has been 400 percent, and we already have 9 percent of the installed power in Europe.
In this line, José Antonio Griñán has indicated that the contribution of all renewable energies in Andalusia already represents more than 10 percent in primary energy consumption.
LEADER IN THE BIOMASS SECTOR
In the same way, he stressed that Andalusia leads the electricity biomass sector in terms of installed power, also indicating that the autonomous community is "a pioneer in research and development of solar thermal technology, leading the national ranking in solar thermal installations and being the second region in biodiesel production and photovoltaic energy generation".
José Antonio Griñán has assured that research and the production of technology in this field have made it possible for clean energies to already account for a third of the total installed electrical power in the region. In Andalusia, the Government invests in energy efficiency, savings and projects for the generation of clean energy, and does so based on criteria of innovation and competitiveness.
NATURAL RESOURCES
Andalusia has natural resources, with an established and growing business sector, with experience and technology, and with the total involvement of this Government in the development of this activity.
At the regulatory level, as Griñán has finally qualified, the Government is already working on a prioritization contest for new wind farms for a power of 800 megawatts. All these proposals are initiatives that are committed to sustainability, progress and economic growth. (EUROPA PRESS)
