We invite everyone to share for two days a waste of artistic and environmental activities in the "Chulluype Festival for a sea without oil stains"; to be held on January 29 and 30, 2011, on the beach of Chuyuipe (Santa Elena, Ecuador).
Chulluype, a sea without oil stains is an active protest against the inefficiency of the systems implemented by the La Libertad refinery in its processes and of the control agencies to prevent and solve the oil spills that on several occasions have caused death, and damage to biodiversity and the economy of nearby communities.
Chulluype, a sea without oil slicks is the joint effort of dozens of activists and people committed to the environment around us, and the beaches on which we live and enjoy.
For two days and through music, art and culture, we will show that we are neither happy nor satisfied with the way in which the issue of hydrocarbons is handled in the province of Santa Elena, Ecuador
International environmental organizations, and more than 100 artists have already committed their support to this cause, which we hope will join more to form a great force that OBLIGES through media and physical pressure to take action on the matter and commit to make concrete and urgent changes.
Support this cause for the sea and its biodiversity, accompanying us in this free event.
