Leonardo DiCaprio is serious about tiger conservation: He had already partnered with the World Wildlife Fund to save tigers, and this week donated $1 million to the campaign through his own foundation.
"Illegal poaching of tigers by their parts and habitat loss due to the massive cultivation of palm oil, timber and paper production are driving this species to extinction," the actor said in a statement. "If we don't take action now, one of our planet's most iconic animals could disappear within a few decades. By saving tigers, we can also protect some of our last remaining primary forests and improve the lives of indigenous communities. "
