Ecuador. In the town of Cotopaxi, the administration held a meeting with owners and workers of the food industry to train them on the handling and transportation of meat and dairy products, which must be handled compulsorily by vehicles that have refrigeration systems.
Representatives of Sanitary Control of Cotopaxi stressed that the transporters must now have a permit granted by the Health Directorate for the transport of this type of food. Once the permit has been completed, the owners of the vehicles must complete an inspection form to check that their transports comply with all the requirements.
The owners were not satisfied with the measure, since they allege that the installation of a cooling system has an approximate cost of US $ 8,000, although they are willing to comply with the standard with a little more time.
