United States. A total of US$14 million has been earmarked for the financing of energy efficiency projects in 22 U.S. states.
The department of Energy-led project will give the money to government agencies to make their improvements to public facilities and to conduct local programs that encourage energy savings.
The Energy Program also aims to save money for the inhabitants of that country, as well as generate employment and promote national manufacturing in technologies that promote energy savings.
The states favored with the project are North Carolina, Rhode Island, Virginia, Washington, Wisconsin, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, California, Hawaii, Illinois, Mississippi, Missouri, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York.
