Brazil. The use of HVAC systems helped reduce heat near the boiler and provided the dispersion of chemical compounds that can be harmful to health at a Pirelli tire plant.
The company installed air conditioners to protect the health and performance of officials working in temperatures close to 150° Celsius. For that reason, the multinational installed the systems at strategic points.
"They measured the temperature at various points in the factory and identified the places where the problems were most critical. Now they have the help of 72 air conditioning systems," said Alexandre Duda da Costa, Pirelli's quality representative.
The official also explained that the equipment must not only lower temperatures but also cause dispersion of the steam that comes out of the rubber process.
The manufacturer is analyzing the possibility of installing these systems in other subsidiaries in Brazil. This application is also found in one of the plants in Turkey.
