International. A report delivered by the market research center IMS Research indicated that an average of 25% of the building automation systems installed in the Americas and Emea regions (Europe, Africa and the Middle East) are being integrated with lighting control systems.
The report also indicates that this phenomenon will increase by around 35% in both regions by 2016.
With the name of "The Americas and Emea markets for integration systems in intelligent buildings", the report indicates that in terms of building automation installations, the solutions that in many cases have the priority are environmental or those of the HVAC / R sector, which is seen as one of the simplest systems to control and automate.
William Rhodes, market analyst at IMS Research, commented: "Lighting control and building automation use similar logic and control architectures. Both systems can use the same sensor to measure the occupancy of a room or building. The combination of these two systems can lead to increased energy efficiency and their benefits can be easy to explain to customers."
