Parguay. During the last International Seminar on Energy Efficiency of the Secretariat of the Environment of Paraguay (Seam), held on November 3, the situation of energy policy in the country's refrigeration and air conditioning sector was discussed.
Another topic that was addressed during the day was the barriers and opportunities that arise in the HVACR industry on energy consumption. Within the framework of the event, the members of the Ozone Unit of the SEAM presented a report on the implementation of the Montreal Protocol and the Plan for the Elimination of Ozone-Depleting Substances. The meeting was attended by specialists and professionals from the energy and refrigeration sectors, officials and technicians of the Seam, also attended by the Vice Ministry of Mines and Energy, the binational entity Yacyreta, the Institute of Social Security and universities and vocational training centers. The seminar, which was attended by engineer Lothar Hoppe, international consultant of the National Center for Clean Technologies of Brazil, was supported by the United Nations Development Programme and the United Nations Environment Programme, the Vice Ministry of Mines and Energy (VMME) and the German Technical Cooperation (GIZ).
