Chile. ASHRAE Chile Chapter held on June 15 the Conference on CO2 Refrigeration Systems at the University of Santiago de Chile where a series of technical talks on the applications of this natural refrigerant were presented.
The Chilean Chamber of Refrigeration and Air Conditioning A.G. also participated in this space.
The person in charge of starting the day was Lorena Alarcón Reyes, consultant of Ozone Unit - Ministry of the Environment - Chile, who spoke about environmental concerns related to the depletion of the ozone layer and global warming, in her presentation entitled "Refrigerants and Compliance with the Montreal Protocol".
For his part, Eng. Roberto Aguiló, DL of Region XII of ASHRAE, provided valuable information on CO2 Refrigeration Applications, highlighting the opportunities that exist in the field in the use of this refrigerant fluid.
The person in charge of opening the second day was Camilo Castillo, Senior Technical Support Engineer of Danfoss, developing the theme hot gas deicing in CO2 systems.
Finally, José Luis Rojas, general manager of Regener Chile, was in charge of closing the day of talks with a topic in contingency: "Regeneration and Final Disposal of Refrigerant Gases".
