International. Belimo Americas announced the launch of its new BACnet remote inspection modules, devices that allow efficient periodic testing required by life safety buffer code.
These FSKN remote inspection modules allow the periodic tests required by the safety shock absorber code, activated by Chapter 7 of the International Building Code, to be carried out, avoiding costly visual inspections.
According to the company "the module starts the gate cycle and verifies the position of the gate to ensure proper emergency operation. It connects seamlessly to fire alarm panels or building automation systems via BACnet or Modbus communication protocols."
Another statement, related to this device, is that the companies Fire Alarm and BAS will be more efficient with the tests of gates and will comply with the requirements of the code to ensure the proper functioning of the gates. The series includes 24 (FSKN24) and 120 (FSKN120) volt devices.
Advantages of inspection modules
With this solution it is possible to inspect inaccessible shock absorbers. Deferred testing and maintenance will be reduced with automated testing and inspection reporting. On the other hand, the commissioning of the systems can be carried out more efficiently. In addition, frequent tests can be carried out at no cost.
