Low maintenance thermoplastic pipes, the novelty of GF Piping Systems Americas

Tuberías termoplásticas de bajo mantenimiento

United States. In the development of the AHR Expo we had the opportunity to interview Ángela Sampaio, Business Development Manager Cooling of GF Piping Systems, who shared the news of her brand in this international meeting.

ACR. Tell us what your brand is presenting at this show?
Angela: We are focused on a pre-insulated system of thermoplastic pipes that will allow a maintenance-free installation. An installation that is also lighter and allows saving on the cost of the structure and that will also bring energy efficiency to the project.

Our system is called CoolFIT P+. It is a high density polyethylene system, HDPE. It is pre-insulated with high density polyurethane and also has an outer jacket in HDPE. What makes it is 100% resistant to ultraviolet rays, something very important when we are installing this type of cold water lines, glycol or brines, for example on the outside of the building, because always the chiller also goes outside, but we have many lines that go on the roof of the building and that allows in some way to minimize maintenance costs and at the same time maintain the efficiency of the system helping to That the chiller works fewer times, less time and loses less energy.

ACR. Those lines you mention, how is each line different? According to the project, according to the specific need of each project?
Angela: We will have cold water if we only need to cool an area or maintain comfort, for example, for air conditioning. But if you need a lower temperature, we will need to add an antifreeze or a heat transfer fluid, such as glycol water or even at even lower temperatures, brines.

So if it were, for example, an application where we are going to have a production of meals or a cold warehouse where we are going to be maintaining or storing them, then we would need lower temperatures. We are already talking about operating temperatures well below what is the conventional air conditioning we want.

Angela Sampiao

ACR. We are starting 2023 What plans does the company have for Latin America?
Angela: We have been in Latin America since last year, we have launched this system and we have a fairly wide coverage of the entire region. We have a person in charge of market development directly in Mexico, with our offices and warehouse in Monterrey, Mexico, there we are focusing a lot on the beer sector, punctually for craft breweries.

We are also in Brazil, where from São Paulo offices, warehouse and a factory. There a colleague is also dedicated exclusively to the development of the market in Brazil. In the same way, focusing much more on the food sector, all the production of food and beverages, it is a fairly novel solution.

For the rest of the territory, of what has been in the Caribbean and Central America, we have a team that operates from Colombia and is responsible for that entire sector. In that area we are focused mainly on Peru, there are many projects being done. We also have Guatemala and Honduras. Our sales network and our network of distributors is supporting each of the projects locally.

ACR. At the fair, how has the audience in Latin America attended? How have you seen people's participation?
Angela: We had a lot of new customers and the interesting thing is that they come from all kinds of countries. We have had a fairly strong presence from Brazil, many people also from Mexico, Honduras, customers from Nicaragua, Costa Rica, quite large has been the participation of part of Latin America and people very enthusiastic about a solution that will allow them to save.
