United States. During the AHR Expo we had the opportunity to interview Angela Sampaio, Business Development Manager Cooling at GF Piping Systems, who shared the news of her brand at this international meeting.
ACR. Tell us what your brand is presenting in this show?
Angela: We are focusing on a pre-insulated system of thermoplastic pipes that will allow for a maintenance-free installation. An installation that is also lighter and saves on the cost of the structure and that will also provide energy efficiency to the project.
Our system is called CoolFIT P+. It is a high density polyethylene system, HDPE. It is pre-insulated with high density polyurethane and also has an outer jacket in HDPE. What makes it 100% resistant to ultraviolet rays, something very important when we are installing this type of cold, glycol or brine water lines, for example outside the building, because the chiller always goes outside, but we have many lines that go on the roof of the building and that allows in some way to minimize maintenance costs and at the same time maintain the efficiency of the system helping the chiller work less times, less time and waste less energy.
ACR. Those lines you mention, how is each line different? According to the project, according to the specific need of each project?
Angela: We will have cold water if we only need to cool one area or maintain comfort, for example, for air conditioning. But if you need a lower temperature, we will need to add an antifreeze or a heat transfer fluid, such as glycol water or even at even lower temperatures, brines.
So if it were, for example, an application where we are going to have food production or a cold room where we are going to be keeping or storing them, then we would need lower temperatures. We are already talking about operating temperatures well below what is the conventional air conditioning that we want.
ACR. We are starting 2023. What plans does the company have for Latin America?
Angela: We have been in Latin America since last year, we have launched this system and we have a fairly broad coverage of the entire region. We have a person in charge of market development directly in Mexico, with our offices and warehouse in Monterrey, Mexico, where we are focusing a lot on the beer sector, specifically for craft breweries.
We are also in Brazil, where from São Paulo offices, warehouse and a factory. A partner there is also dedicated exclusively to the development of the market in Brazil. In the same way, focusing much more on the food sector, all the production of food and beverages, it is a rather novel solution.
For the rest of the territory, of what has been in the Caribbean and Central America area, we have a team that operates from Colombia and is in charge of all that sector. In that area we are focused above all on Peru, many projects are being carried out there. We also have Guatemala and Honduras. Our commercial network and our network of distributors is locally supporting each of the projects.
ACR. At the fair, how has the attendance of the Latin American public been? How have you seen the participation of the people?
Angela: We had a lot of new clients and the interesting thing is that they come from all kinds of countries. We have had a fairly strong presence from Brazil, many people also from Mexico, Honduras, clients from Nicaragua, from Costa Rica, the participation of Latin America has been quite large and people are very enthusiastic about a solution that will allow them to save .
