XX IIAR Refrigeration Seminar for Latin America will provide safety training

XX Seminario IIAR de Refrigeración para Latinoamérica

Mexico. Guadalajara will be the scene of the tenth meeting of the IIAR Refrigeration Seminar for Latin America, which is scheduled from August 24 to 26 and will have on the third day a practical technical day dedicated to industrial safety.

This meeting, organized by the International Institute of Ammonia Refrigeration, IIAR for its acronym in English is divided into the CO2 room and the NH3 room. In addition to 5 techno-commercial talks, during the 3 days of the meeting topics such as best practices in the application of transcritical CO2 in industrial applications or the importance of the cold chain for the safety and control of weight loss in meat processes, among others, are on the agenda .

Now, in ACR Latin America we had the opportunity to communicate with Yesenia Rector, international director of IIAR, who told us that the main objective of this seminar is intimately related to the mission of her institute, which is to provide education, standards and advocacy for the refrigeration industry that makes use of natural refrigerants.

In that sense, Yesenia stressed that this type of event is relevant, because today it is essential that the refrigeration and air conditioning industry meets the challenge of being sustainable, this considering climate change and the efforts worldwide to stop it, as well as its role as a generator of quality of life.

Yesenia Rector

"This is a great opportunity to ensure such sustainability from education. The XX IIAR Refrigeration Seminar for Latin America will offer a high-quality technical program, with experts in the field who will share their knowledge with the attending professionals".

Likewise, the director indicated that they expected to have the participation of both national and international public, mostly professionals from the refrigeration and air conditioning industry.

"We will have professionals visiting us from the United States, Brazil, Peru, Argentina, and Chile, among others. In addition, we will have the presence of the general directors of the state civil protection units and firefighters of the states of Guadalajara, Zapopan and Jalisco, who will be present and contributing with us during the third day of the event in the security day".

Yesenia ended by making a special invitation to participate in the programming of the third and last day of the event. "It will consist of a safety day where we will address how to respond to emergencies that may occur with ammonia, as it is one of the most used natural refrigerants in industrial refrigeration systems."
