Mexico. Danfoss reached 5,000 condensing units and 5,000 tandem units (compressors) produced in Mexico in May of this year. This goal was achieved after a year and a half of the start of this production plant, which has state-of-the-art technology for leak detection.
Another important point of this factory is that it represents a new value proposition, if compared to other plants, thanks to its quality system based on the automotive industry. In addition, their work is supported by an experienced team that follows ISO/IATF quality tools and standards.
According to Danfoss Mexico "reaching this number of manufactured parts also responds to the expertise of the personnel certified by the American Welding Society (AWS) and the entire on-site multifunctional team with personnel specialized in R & D, supply chain, quality and product management." Well, they fulfilled the tasks entrusted in the ramp up of national production, after the closure project of Arkadelphia.
New goals
Now the company is going to focus on the basic operating conditions of the production lines to put them to the test. It will also maintain error-free implementation and guaranteed service for customers.
It is worth mentioning that all production stations are integrated into a new manufacturing execution system (MES) that provides full control, traceability and transparency for the manufacture of both existing and new products.
Finally, it is relevant to note that Danfoss uses the network of local suppliers for key components, so that it manages to ensure short delivery times. That is, there is a comprehensive control in the supply chain that involves suppliers, imports and exports of material, purchase orders, new customers and service.
