Latin America. Lennox has made available to the market a new Rooftop unit, package type, which offers greater power and a design that allows comfort at the time of installation, the Model L.
The advantages of the Model L can be divided into 4 main points: energy optimization, air quality, ease of maintenance and intelligent engineering, which converge in technical particularities that seek to materialize their promise of value; reduce maintenance and service times to generate a lower cost of ownership.
Energy optimization: The unit has variable speed components and intelligent operation, so it has energy saving efficiency ratings of up to 23.0 SEER, 22.0 IEER and 15.0 EER. In addition to this, optimized humidity control, through improved dehumidification control and optional Humiditrol+, reduce energy use compared to traditional hot gas reheating systems.
Air quality: The Model L's adjustable compressors and fans, along with the Humiditrol filter options, with UVC and High-MERV, improve indoor air quality in various climate zones. To this must be added that the VAV operation of one and multi-zones of 3 to 25 tons allows flexibility for many applications.
Ease of maintenance: The maintenance system offers tool-free filter access, as well as sliding blower, compressor insulated compartment and accessible gas compartment. In addition, the interface of the mobile application "App" integrates diagnostic, testing and troubleshooting functionalities, which reduces installation times compared to traditional integrated interfaces.
Intelligent engineering: It has a diagnostic system and sensors for monitoring the performance of the components, so that it tracks the capacity and efficiency, in addition to generating an alert when necessary.
The Model L offers open integration and standard control with BACnet IP and MS/TP, LONTalk as well as thermostats and wireless sensors to expand the possibilities of monitoring and control customization.
Added value
Additionally, the Model L units, in conjunction with the Lennox CORE control system, allow the use of optional wireless sensors, a mobile service App and an integrated wireless gateway.
The mobile service application replaces the traditional interface built into the CORE controller, and provides guided configuration menus for installation, test and balance, and network integration. This App (which received recognition in 2021 as a finalist of the Innovation Adwards of AHR EXPO, in the Software category) allows to generate reports of execution times, service history and facilitates the implementation of wireless sensors and sensor networks compatible with the CORE control system.
Simply put, the mobile app interface provides intuitive guided configuration, reporting, and parameter tuning to optimize unit operation.
Finally, this App adds two useful options for Rooftop Model L units: the possibility of reading data in real time and a guided configuration with progress indicators, detailed help and exportable reports that for Lennox results in the reduction of start-up times.
