Peru. Through the project "Management Plan for the Elimination of Hydrochlorofluorocarbons (HCFC) – PGEH Phase II for Peru", training workshops were held that strengthened competencies in new technologies and good environmental practices, in favor of the improvement of refrigeration and air conditioning services.
Those trained were 164 technicians from the RAC sector, technical educational institutions, technicians and end users nationwide, prioritizing the regions of Lima, Piura, La Libertad, Lambayeque and Ancash. With this, the sector is enhanced and the promotion of natural refrigerants for the conservation of the ozone layer.
These interventions promoted by the General Directorate of Environmental Affairs of Industry (DGAAMI) of the Ministry of Production and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), are carried out within the framework of the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer. International environmental commitments created to mitigate the impact on the ozone layer and global warming in the world where they focus mainly on the refrigeration and air conditioning (RAC) sector.
With the purpose of improving the skills of technicians for the safe handling of alternative gases, as well as tools and equipment that contain them, to achieve the adoption and implementation of national policies by encouraging voluntary initiatives aimed at reducing emissions of refrigerants that deplete the ozone layer and / or increase global warming.
In this way, our country has been complying with the commitments assumed before the Montreal Protocol, with the aim of reducing the consumption of substances that deplete the ozone layer and refrigerants that build global warming, promoting the use of natural refrigerants friendly to the environment.
