Latin America. A renowned chain of convenience stores in the region has managed to significantly reduce the energy consumption derived from its refrigerated shelves with the implementation of CopelandTM ZX outdoor refrigeration units.
Result: Through this technology, each store reduced its carbon footprint, while increasing the reliability of its refrigeration systems, minimizing its maintenance costs and reducing losses of perishable products.
Customer: This is one of the most important convenience store chains in the region, committed to the goal of creating social awareness about the rational use of energy, and the reduction of environmental impact.
Challenge: This same chain of convenience stores needed to optimize the consumption of electrical energy from its medium-temperature refrigerators, without compromising the integrity of the management of its cold chain and maintaining the reliability of its refrigeration systems.
Additionally, the customer required a parameterizable and compact solution, which adapted to the demand for cold and electrical configuration of each store. In addition, due to the urban location of its stores, it was necessary that the proposed solution did not generate excessive noise during its operation, so as not to infringe the municipal codes of sound level.
Solution: The Copeland ZX and ZXD line of outdoor application refrigeration units, equipped with Copeland Scroll compression technology of fixed capacity and digital modulation respectively, were the appropriate response for the reduction of operating costs in convenience store chains. Here are some of its features:
•Sound reduction from 3 to 5 dBA
•Self-adjusting capacity according to refrigeration demand
•Reduction of energy consumption from 15 to 27%
•Compact design to maximize use of commercial area
•Configurable capacity according to store dimensions
•Access to connectivity for remote monitoring and alarm management
