Colombia. Ambientes Puros IAQ announced the development of an air purifier designed for mini Split type consoles in which they are found, decorative Split, window type and cassette type, called UTO Mini.
This new solution is an oxidative treatment unit that uses Photocatalysis and is shown as a novel, safe and cost-efficient technology, which offers solutions to various problems associated with indoor air pollution and is designed to reduce the concentration of pollutants in the air, both of biological origin (bacteria, algae, viruses, fungi, mold, allergens), as of chemical origin (volatile organic compounds, VOCs).
Currently, interior spaces such as our homes, work areas such as offices, clinics among others can provide some vulnerability for those who occupy them and their inhabitants are not exempt from suffering the effects of the so-called Building Syndrome that occurs due to the symptoms that a person can present as a result of poor ventilation.
Regarding SAR-CoV-2, it is considered a microorganism that is transmitted through the air and that can last up to 8 hours in the environment, and air conditioning systems undoubtedly become a method of easy transport for it, making it a potential risk to people's health [1].
Therefore, different scientific groups worldwide, made public the call for the WHO to recognize that transmission occurs through the air and from there, ASHRAE which is the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers has been disseminating then that air conditioning systems are an indispensable tool to combat the risks of infection that can occur from there [2].
The studies carried out faithfully describe that this happens and that mini Split devices are a very critical element understanding that these units do not have a method of direct air renewal but that usually installations are made with this type of equipment without having an injection of outside air to make renewal and dilution of contaminants.
