Bosch Thermotechnology expands its split inverter solutions

Bosch TermotechnlogyInternational. Bosch Thermotechnology announced the expansion of its Inverter Ducted Split (IDS) family to include the 15 SEER rated unit inverter solution, IDS Light, as well as IDS Plus (18 SEER) and IDS Premium (20 SEER).

Made possible by the new BVA15 air controller and BOVB18 condenser, the new IDS Light system is designed for optimal comfort at an affordable price. IDS Light offers quality engineering, quiet performance and exceptional value for homeowners whose needs may not be demanding enough to require a system with a higher SEER rating.

"Recognizing an important need in the market, the Bosch engineering team set out to design a SEER-rated inverter 15 to complete the IDS family, creating an even broader solution," said Katie Woodling, group leader of air conditioning product management. "Designed with optimal energy efficiency in mind, these systems provide personalized convenience while maximizing value, each packaged in a sleek, quiet unit."

Bosch IDS systems are designed to use the optimal amount of energy to achieve maximum comfort while keeping sound levels to a minimum. One of the quietest systems on the market, the system uses silent blade technology, sound isolation mounts, and outdoor condensation section placement to provide sound levels as low as 56 dBA.

Frequent on/off cycles of conventional heat pumps can lead to uncomfortable temperature fluctuations. Inverter-driven pumps can self-adjust, providing a constant ambient temperature, even when the outside temperature drops below freezing. The on/off cycle of traditional pumps also creates power surges, while IDS systems constantly accelerate operation, preventing power spikes and protecting the system's life cycle and energy use. The ability of high-efficiency systems to operate with optimal energy use also qualifies for maximum discounts from energy suppliers, resulting in cost savings for homeowners.

Bosch IDS Solutions:

· IDS Light: With the benefits of a 15 SEER inverter system, this newly designed system combines the efficient and reliable BOVB18 outdoor unit with the BVA15 PSC air controller.

· IDS Plus: Formerly IDS 1.0, the 18 SEER IDS Plus system provides a balance of efficiency and comfort through a combination of the BOVB18 outdoor unit with the BVA20 high 2-stage constant torque ECM style air handler.

· IDS Premium: Formerly IDS 2.0, which offers the highest efficiency of the IDS family to get the maximum energy discounts from suppliers, it is Bosch's most efficient system. Rated at 20 SEER, the system uses the top-level BOVA20 outdoor unit with the BVA20 2-stage constant torque ECM-style air controller.
