Colombia. Miguel Castro has been appointed by Daikin to be in charge of the Direct Expansion (DX) division for Colombia, which ends up forming the region he will lead and which also includes Ecuador, Peru, Chile, Bolivia and Paraguay. At his side will be Carlos Briceño as commercial manager.
With a commercial career of 24 years in transnational companies, Miguel Castro will be at the forefront of Daikin's renewed strategy for the Southern Region, with which the company sets ambitious goals for 2020. The new Division of Direct Expansion seeks to make the company a leader in HVAC solutions for homes, commercial establishments and companies.
A Mechanical Engineer by profession, with an MBA with a major in Finance from the ESAN Business School, during his four years as part of Daikin, Castro has been responsible for the start-up of the company in Peru, starting from scratch and progressing to become the number 1 in the market. Subsequently, he led the strategy that seeks to increase the company's participation in Ecuador and from July 2019, in Chile.
In Peru, Daikin positioned itself as a leader in HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) sales while, for two consecutive years, the office in that country was recognized by the company as the one with the best sales results in the region.
"Castro's proven ability in the areas of marketing, human resource management and customer satisfaction and the achievements made as part of Daikin's management underpin his ability to manage this new stage of Daikin," the company statement said.
