Mexico. In a recent event, Danfoss unveiled its new production line on refrigeration solutions that will be manufactured at the company's plant in the city of Monterrey.
As of this year (2019), the Monterrey plant produces the manual valve platform for industrial refrigeration, called SVL. The SVL platform is a line that includes manual valves with different functions: step valves, regulation, check, pass/hold and filters. The line is focused on Industrial refrigeration systems.
An interdisciplinary team worked from the planning to the installation of the SVL line in Mexico for the last 2 years. The decision to install this line at the Monterrey plant is due to the needs of the regional market and growth expectations.
The SVL manual valve platform offers a flexible and modular concept that allows optimizing the handling of components; in addition to being a widely proven solution in industrial refrigeration installations. Thanks to their design and manufacturing process, SVL manual valves reduce the risk of possible leaks in industrial refrigeration systems; on the one hand, by the Forging/Casting process with which they are produced, their double seal design and their directly weldable connections.
It is an interdisciplinary team with different functions both local and global, includes functions of quality, manufacturing, engineering, purchasing, logistics and extensive coordination for the execution of the project in a timely manner.
For Danfoss, having a plant in the Latin American market is very important: "Having a production line of the SVL platform, which is the most important in terms of volume in our industrial refrigeration portfolio, allows us to be closer to our customers in the region and to be able to offer them greater flexibility and better service", commented Alejandro Figueroa, IR Product Manager at Danfoss.
