International. The International Energy Agency (IEA) has updated its database of energy efficiency indicators with annual data from 2000 to 2016, with expanded geographical coverage and a new interactive visualization tool that better shows country-specific final energy consumption patterns across all end uses.
The database covers end-use energy consumption for 8 energy products and includes end-use energy efficiency indicators and carbon intensity indicators for 4 sectors (residential, services, industry and transport). These indicators are calculated using key sectoral activity data.
This database provides valuable information on energy consumption patterns at the country level, allowing countries to track efficiency improvements across sectors and end uses.
The IEA recognises the cooperation of member countries and also countries beyond the IEA that have partnered with the Agency to collect energy efficiency data and indicators.
The IEA's Energy Efficiency Indicators database is available in two versions. The short version is free and contains the total final energy consumption per end-use for the selected years, with the indicators indexed for the year 2000. The extended version is more comprehensive and includes the disaggregation of end-use energy consumption by energy product, as well as end-use and carbon efficiency indicators for all years between 2000 and 2016.
