Spain. The Catalan fan manufacturer Sodeca recently opened a new production center located in the La Barricona industrial estate in Ripoll, Catalonia. In total, it will invest 12 million euros, of which 8 million have been allocated to the works of this first phase that has lasted 14 months, an objective that was proposed from the beginning. The plant will manufacture fans with "more advanced and more efficient technologies."
The company had until now the production center and offices in Sant Quirze de Besora (Osona). The lack of space and the will to continue growing have made Sodeca have decided to build and launch a new center to expand capacity.
This new building occupies 10,000 square meters distributed between offices, customer service, warehouse and production. The building has obtained the energy rating certificate A, the maximum that can be achieved.
Among other aspects, the plant has an automated system of gates of hermetic design to prevent the loss of energy and extraction systems on the roof to avoid heat losses. Photovoltaic panels for self-consumption have also been installed.
In addition, the company has planned a second phase that would allow the expansion of the warehouse with the construction of an adjacent building of about 5,000 square meters more and that would cost about 4 million euros.
