Danfoss launches new range of digital gas detectors for industrial cooling

International. Danfoss introduced a new range of fixed digital gas detectors for industrial refrigeration applications, which are not only compatible and accurate, but also much easier and more intuitive to work with, from initial specification to long-term operation.

Next Generation Gas Detection: Plug and Play
Danfoss' next generation of gas detectors are based on a digital platform that offers multiple communication and integration options to improve operational reliability, easy calibration and maintenance procedures that enable high service efficiency and regulatory compliance. In addition, the intuitive user interface provides a high level of accuracy to simplify operator handling that minimizes operational, configuration and calibration error risks. The portfolio ranges from entry-level models to heavy-duty models with sensor technology that fit the specific refrigerant, application and safety requirements of your cooling system.

Easy setup and installation
The analog connection or RS485 Modbus allows easy communication with a central system. Autonomous gas detection units with integrated relays are available that can be connected directly to external systems to activate alarm devices.

To provide a robust plug and play solution, all gas detection units come pre-configured from the factory to meet refrigerant tuning requirements and PPM configurations.

Danfoss facilitates calibration and maintenance
For a more simplified calibration process, Danfoss' new range of gas detection units has an integrated calibration routine. Gas calibration no longer requires potentiometers and multimeters, which simplifies the process significantly and reduces calibration time and the risk of errors. Factory-certified and pre-calibrated sensor replacements are available on all sensor types for easy service.

Improves operational reliability and maintenance efficiency
Several service functions support optimized maintenance planning, such as service alerts (on the unit, controller, or both) to indicate when the service expires. The dedicated PC tool provides an overview of when each gas detection unit is operating and generates field calibration reports to support safety documentation and procedures.

Danfoss' gas detection portfolio enables regulatory compliance with EN 378:2016, ISO 5149:2014, IIAR 2-2017 and ASHRAE 15:2016, while providing comprehensive safety and ease-of-use functions.
