Mexico. Due to the use of sustainable energy and efficiency in water consumption, the Old City Hall Obtained the LEED Platinum Certification, a construction that has almost six centuries of history.
With this, the property located in the Colonia Centro of the Cuauhtémoc Delegation, becomes the oldest building to achieve this certification worldwide, as emphasized by the Head of Government, Miguel Ángel Mancera. Mahesh Ramanujam, president and CEO of the Green Building Council of the United States, sent a letter to the president of the capital to congratulate him where he printed that "it is a sustainable building, an example of leadership and transformation."
It should be noted that the installation of LED luminaires and a rainwater harvesting system, the generation of renewable energy through photovoltaic cells, the implementation of a recycling policy for waste and the installation of 30 air injection systems in the building, are part of the sustainability actions implemented by the Government of the CDMX with which it was possible to obtain 80 LEED points.
