Mexico. Danfoss celebrates its third anniversary of the merger between VLT+Vacon, which the company has described as an opportunity to expand its range of actions and enter companies where it did not previously have a strong value proposition to offer.
The company recognizes that with the Vacon portfolio its offer in the area of mining, metals, and even in integrated refrigeration solutions has been well received by the industry.
The Danfoss Drives division is strengthened with around 1,000 research and development engineers. The R&D area will continuously develop product innovations and keep the portfolio constantly growing. In addition, Danfoss Drives is an AC drive company that produces the power modules used in the units, ensuring that they are perfectly designed for the dedicated drives.
"Every merger brings challenges and the first was to keep the "business as usual" in front of customers, who immediately perceived a different, more structured and more organized business model compared to that of the company that operated in Mexico. The transition of the supply chain and the business service model was quite demanding, with the firm objective of offering transparent actions and with the best technology for customers," says the official statement from Danfoss.
The company explains that the second challenge remains the preparation to achieve excellence in the domain of a new product, in a new market, with new applications and new customers. Three years away from the vision of the Drives area, Danfoss can assure that it has discovered that the purchase of Vacon has a very clear meaning: to enter and maintain market spaces through a dedicated solution, without losing flexibility something difficult to achieve only with the VLT portfolio since they are products designed for very specific markets. "The flexibility that Vacon allows gives us the opportunity to offer in front of the client a solution thought in their needs, this merger is one of the most important episodes in the history of Danfoss Drives, and has been the gateway to new businesses to offer integral solutions", said Miguel Angel González, General Director of Danfoss Mexico.
