Colombia. The Technical Course in Emergencies with Ammonia in Refrigeration Systems will be held on Wednesday 25, Thursday 26 and Friday 27 October in the city of Bogotá.
This course is organized and taught exclusively by Otec Hazmat, Amoquimicos, Acaire and Ammonia Safety & Training Institute-ASTI.
The objective of this course is to train and certify in the control of leaks to personnel of operations and maintenance of refrigeration systems with ammonia. This course complies with the OSHA 192.120(q)(6)(iii) standard and states that a hazardous materials responder is an individual who responds to potential emissions or leaks in order to stop the release.
In the course participants will have the opportunity to observe in the field the real behavior of the chemical through a series of demonstrations with real ammonia for 1 full day, in this way they will understand the reactions that this product has when it is released, understand the different types of leaks in liquid phase and gas, behavior of steam clouds and procedures of control, precipitation and self-cooling of ammonia, technique of covering and covering, ventilation and decontamination.
