United States. Research and Markets recently released the report "Central Air Conditioning Systems – U.S. Market Overview." Through the report, central air conditioning systems (CAC) and direct expansion systems (DX) are forecast to have a 6.7% growth in shipments per unit and 7.2% in the value of shipments during the 2017-2022 analysis period.
This growth is mainly attributed to the expected significant growth in residential construction. Heat pump shipments are estimated to spur the growth of DX systems, recording a 2017-2022 compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 8.9 percent to reach 3.8 million units valued at $5 billion by 2022.
The report also studies the analysis of shipments of sub-segments of DX CAC systems - split a/c systems, a/C package systems and heat pumps; and central plant CAC systems - chillers, cooling towers, air handling units and fan units.
