Latin America. Hillphoenix reported that it will be the sole distributor of Nxtcold's ultra-low packaged ammonia units for industrial applications in Canada, Mexico and Latin America, handling manufacturing, marketing and installation.
The company relies on the benefits of technology and its manufacturing and marketing capabilities to generate a rapid growth curve for the product in Mexico, Latin America and Canada, where they consider that there are high business opportunities.
In the industrial realm, Hillphoenix has installed transcritical CO2 systems on ice rinks, including three in Anchorage, Alaska, with a fourth commissioning in September. The agreement with Nxtcold will allow it a direct entry into the ammonia market.
Nxtcold, a Los Angeles-based company, designed the system for ammonia loads that are below 1 pound/TR. In recent years the company has installed units in cold storage facilities in California, including a Lineage Logistics plant in Oxnard, California, a Baker cold storage facility in Long Beach, California (managed by Lineage Logistics) Cold Storage and a Neptune Foods fish storage warehouse in San Pedro, California. Hillphoenix has manufactured NXTCOLD units for the US market.
