International. Daikin Applied Americas has been honored by Frost & Sullivan as the winner of the Manufacturing Leadership Award for outstanding achievements with its VVR technology.
As HVAC technologies evolve to deliver better efficiencies in building performance, lower cost and less energy, producing a lower carbon footprint, one problem has challenged engineers: HVAC systems are often pressured to meet a building's occupancy demands for different conditions. Daikin accepted and solved this challenge with the design and implementation of VVR technology in the new Pathfinder air-cooled refrigerator.
With the new VVR technology, the HVAC chiller compressor detects the amount of elevation needed at any given time and adjusts the compression ratio automatically. The result is that the compressor only works as hard as needed, and customers don't pay for overcompression, which is likely to occur 95% of the time. VVR technology offers optimal efficiency in any operating condition.
The Manufacturing Leadership Awards, now 13 years old, honor individual companies and leaders who are influencing the future of global manufacturing. Manufacturing leaders have demonstrated achievements in a wide range of categories engaging in innovative projects to set themselves apart from the competition. Winners are chosen by a panel of expert judges to obtain results that have provided clear and compelling value, return on investment and other tangible results.
