Colombia. During the XV Expo Acaire (September 27 to 30 in Bogotá), an event of the HVAC/R sector in Colombia, Armacell will present its new applications of the Armaflex line for insulating pipes.
The use of thermal insulation in chilled water systems has been a firm ally of companies seeking high energy efficiency, convenience in installation and lower operating costs.
"In Colombia, the use of elastomeric foams in the HVAC-R market remains low because installers are not aware of the advantages of this type of product, when applied to other types of pipes, in addition to copper pipes," says Alvaro Salgado, Armacell's business leader in South America.
Among the technological advantages of the insulator developed by the company, including the 520s adhesive and the Armaflex Finish paint, are the high resistance to the diffusion of water vapor μ> 10,000, which ensures that the insulation remains dry during its useful life; compliance with key international standards; the good reaction to fire and easy installation inside.
To increase the current 60% share of the elastomer market in the region, Armacell has invested in the training of installers and also approached industry professionals including architects, engineers and designers to present the innovations and specifications of the product portfolio. "It is not only about selling the insulation, its useful life and operation will depend on the correct use," Salgado concluded.
