Training courses in construction and sustainable urbanism of the CCCS

Colombia. The Colombian Council for Sustainable Construction (CCCS) will offer two training courses aimed at sustainable construction and urbanism.

The first of them, called Introduction to energy modeling, will be held in Bogotá (March 28 and 30, Monday and Wednesday, 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.), and the second LEED Green Associate Vocational Training will take place in Barranquilla (April 11 to 20, Monday and Wednesday, 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Introduction to Energy Modeling
In this course it will be possible to understand the performance parameters that govern the energy efficiency of buildings and how the use of energy modeling in projects becomes a vital tool to optimize the capital investment associated with the active and passive systems in buildings, thus allowing to rationalize the demand for resources and guarantee the satisfaction of the operational needs of the building in a cost-effective way.

The contents of this level of foundation are aimed at designers, residents, construction managers, commercials and executives of companies in the construction sector interested in knowing and understanding the factors that are framed within sustainable construction in the national context.

LEED GA Vocational Training
The LEED® Green Associate credential accredits the professional in the knowledge of the principles and practices of design, construction and sustainable operation of buildings associated with the most widely used certification system in Colombia. I started its professional accreditation process in the LEED® Version 4 certification system, in an academic program accredited by the United States Green Building Council (USGBC), and with the help of our instructors who are experts in certification processes and endorsed by the creators of the certification system in its teaching.

The contents of this level of deepening are aimed at professional designers, residents, site managers, commercials and executives of companies in the construction sector who are interested in starting a process of professional credentialing in LEED® or learn more about the processes of implementation of sustainability strategies for their projects. It is recommended to those who wish to participate in these courses, have successfully completed the courses of the level of foundation or have practical experience in sustainable projects.
