International . A new course in "Design & Application of Variable Refrigerant Flow Systems," is one of eleven offered in ASHRAE's spring online course series.
Variable refrigerant flow (VRF) systems are now being used in a wide variety of buildings throughout North America. The benefits of VRF include zonal applications, variable capacity, distributed control, low operating noise, simultaneous cooling and heating, efficient use of energy, fast installation and low maintenance costs.
The course, which will be held on May 16, provides non-manufacturer concepts of how to apply VRF systems in buildings. He will be a supplement to the introduction to the technological fundamentals presented in the ASHRAE Handbook version 2012, HVAC Systems and Equipment, offered to consulting engineers who already have the basic knowledge of VRF technology.
The ASHRAE Learning Institute (ALI) is offering eleven online professional development seminars this spring focused on commissioning, indoor air quality, energy efficiency, HVAC applications, and guidelines and standards.
Participants can access these instructor-led courses from anywhere in the world that has an internet connection, and can earn continuing education units/professional development hours for each course they complete.
ALI courses provide professional development through in-depth information that is delivered on time, in a practical way, and beyond the basic technical level. Online courses are offered every spring and fall.
