United States. Underscoring their commitment to improving energy efficiency, ASHRAE and the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) have renewed a memorandum of understanding.
The agreement was signed by ASHRAE President Tom Phoenix and David Danielson, Assistant Secretary, Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy at DOE. This represents an update of an agreement last signed in 2011.
ASHRAE and DOE agree to continue their long-term relationship, working cooperatively to improve energy efficiency, improve the visible and widespread use of renewable energy sources, and minimize the impact of energy use on the environment.
"By renewing our memorandum of understanding, ASHRAE and DOE are committed to bringing our collective energy conservation efforts together," Phoenix said. "Our continued work with DOE will allow us to improve our efforts to achieve energy savings without sacrificing comfort, air quality or productivity."
