International. A Notice of Intent was published by Environment Canada stating that the Government is considering banning the manufacture and import of refrigerants with high GWP, including the R134a and R507 series and R404A in that country's commercial refrigeration systems.
Systems include: condensing units and supermarket systems, standalone units and vending machines. The measures only refer to new equipment, while existing facilities using high GWP refrigerants would be allowed to continue serving and operating.
Canada will consider epa's rule under the SNAP Program as soon as it is ready. The Ministry launched a consultation process, inviting industry representatives and other stakeholders to submit their comments.
