United Kingdom. A court has heard that a registered gas installer put lives at risk because of his illegal work during the assembly of boilers. Arash Raeisinezhadian illegally carried out gas work on four properties in Swindon between 30 November 2013 and 22 February 2014.
Mr. Raeisinezhadian's activities were investigated by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE), which prosecuted him in the Swindon Magistrates' Court on January 19.
The court was informed that Mr Raeisinezhadian was paid by an agency to remove an old boiler and install a new one on a property on Kopernik Road, Haydon End. He was also hired to install boilers in homes on three other streets.
When the work was reviewed by a registered gas technician, the installation on Kopernik Road was classified as "immediate danger", due to which a gas leak was detected and combustion was not installed with the manufacturer's instructions. Some faults, including a gas leak, were also found at a job at a property on Belle Vue Road.
Mr Raeisinezhadian pleaded guilty to four breaches of health and safety legislation. He was fined a total of $3,200 and sentenced to pay $1,200 in costs.
