Argentina. The growth in the commercialization of air conditioners will not meet the expectations of members of the sector, according to a report published by the local newspaper La Nacion.
The newspaper refers to two analyses carried out by consultants in which it is highlighted that within the quarter from July to September, sales of these equipment fell 10% compared to the same period in 2011, according to the GfK.
This trend coincides with the report of Abeceb.com which ensures that the production of HVAC systems will be lower than that of the previous year; the expectations at the end of this year is that the marketing figures will fall by 15%. Another important fact says that the manufacturing projection of air conditioning units for 2012 is 1,495,000, compared to the 1,765 units manufactured in 2011.
La Nación assures that factors such as inflation, the increase in freight costs and electricity tariffs, limited and discouraged the consumer from massively acquiring this type of equipment.
The consultancy GfK indicates that splits are the equipment that sells the most with 92%, of that percentage 68% is part of the cold / heat segment. The equipment of 3,000 refrigerators are the ones that sell the most with 43% of the market, ahead of the 2,250 refrigerators that represent 25%. In Argentina, 33% of households have an HVAC system.
