Chile. Sales of air conditioners have grown by 40% compared to the figures obtained during the same time last year, as revealed by the company Anwo to local media.
The increase, driven by the high temperatures of the summer, was reflected not only in commercial establishments and offices; but it showed significant growth in the residential sector, where it went from representing 13% of sales in 2010 to 25% in 2011.
According to the statements made by company spokespersons, this is due to the offer of a greater number of models and the variety of prices available. In addition, they point out that users are attracted by energy efficiency, which guarantees that they will not suffer exaggerated increases in their payments for electricity consumption. Although, Ignacio Evans, commercial and marketing manager of Anwo, points out in his statements, the proper installation of the equipment is fundamental, "the efficiency of the device depends a lot on the installation and previous advice. You have to study the place and the conditions of the rooms before installing an air conditioner."
