United States. The main changes in the requirements on lighting, mechanics and budget of energy costs in buildings are included in the new energy standard, recently published by Ashrae and IES.
The 90.1 -2013 Ansi/ Ashrae/Ies standard, Energy Standard for Buildings, except low-rise residential, incorporates 110 additions.
"While much has changed since the first version of Rule 90 that was published in 1975, the need to reduce building energy consumption and cost continues unabated," said Steve Skalko, chairman of the commission that drafted the 2013 rule.
"This standard represents many advances over the 2010 standard, as we work toward our goal of making the standard 40 to 50% stricter than the 2004 standard," added Steve Skalko.
