Cuba. By 12% it will seek to increase Havana's renewable energy production over the next eight years, taking advantage of sources such as forest and cane biomass, as well as solar, wind and hydraulic energy.
According to the official Cubadebate website, currently, the Cuban nation obtains 3.8% of energy generated from renewable sources, and expects to increase that figure by 16.5% in the next eight years.
By 2014 it is expected that a 50 MW wind farm will be built in the east of the island, which would be the pillar for the construction of eight new parks in 2020, with a total capacity of 280MW.
Cuba has reduced its emissions by 20% compared to 1990. While in 2011 they replaced more than 30,000 tons of fuel and stopped emitting more than 100,000 tons of CO2.
